Games (subject to change)

Each team is guaranteed (3) games.  Tournament consists of, (3) 12 minute periods, with periods one & two using running time, and period number three consisting of 7 minutes of  running time and 5 minutes of stop time.  A 5 minute running time overtime period if needed.  If the overtime period is still tied a shoot out will determine the victor.

Winning team is awarded 5 points for a win.  An extra 3 points will be awarded to a team that wins via a shutout.
(See note *)
* If there are two teams that are tied at the end of regulation play than the winning team(s) would earn 8 points for a win, and 1 point for goal scored, thus earning 9 total points.  The losing team would earn 3 points for the regulation shutout.

(0) Points will be awarded to a losing team.  1 point will also be earned to the winning team for each goal scored with having no maximum number of goals scored.   So the winning team can earn maximum points per game if needed.

If two or more teams have the same amount of points, then the following methods will be used to determine the proper seeding.

  • Win loss record will always be used first.
(This is used incase a team only has one win, but has more points than a team that won two games, because that team  scored many goals against an opponent while shutting out that opponent, and points added up to be higher than a team that one two games)
  • Total points scored.
  • Goals scored for each team.
  • Goals against each team.
  • Least amount of penalty minutes per team.
  • If still tied than a coin flip will determine seeding.

Ten teams will go into the playoffs (Subject to change) and is based on an eleven team format.  Playoff games will be played using (3) twelve minute periods (2) twelve minute running time periods and (1) twelve minute stop time period.  No shootout will be used in the championship game.
(Playoffs format of (1) twelve minute stop time is subject to change if time appears to be a factor), and team Captains will notified of this prior to the start of the game

* If there are two teams that are tied at the end of regulation play than the winning team(s) would earn 8 points for a win, and 1 point for goal scored, thus earning 9 total points.  The losing team would earn 3 points
